Press Trust of India Mumbai
Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan tonight met his ministerial colleagues from Congress to firm up the party's stand on various issues including the demand of reservations for the Maratha community.

All the Congress ministers were present at the meeting, including Industries Minister Narayan Rane, who headed the committee which has proposed 20 per cent reservations in jobs and education for the political dominant community.

The meeting was held at Chavan's official bungalow, 'Varsha', in south Mumbai.

The demand for reservations for Maratha community and other issues have acquired a new urgency in view of the coming Assembly elections and the disastrous performance of Congress in the Lok Sabha polls.
