Jammu and Kashmir Education Minister Naeem Akhtar today said strict action would be taken against students indulging in unfair means during the Class 10 board examinations, beginning Monday, and that prohibitory orders under CrPC Section 144 would be imposed around exam centres.
"Section 144 of CrPc will be imposed around all exam centres and strict action will be taken against students who indulge in unfair means," Jammu and Kashmir Education Minister Naeem Akhtar said.
He directed officials to maintain heightened vigil on sensitive examination centres.
In the Class 10 board exams, 60,462 students are writing their papers at 580 exam centres while as 52,110 students are expected to appear in Class 12 exams at 478 centres across Jammu and Kashmir, Akhtar said.
The minister asked SSPs and Deputy Commissioners to conduct surprise visits to examination centres across the state. "In case of complaints, police and officials of the Education Department should ensure that strict action is taken against the offenders. Such cases must be taken to their logical conclusion without any delay," Akhtar said.
The Education Minister said a pool of supervisors and invigilators should be kept on standby in all districts.
The minister has directed school authorities not to detain students who failed 'Golden Test' which was conducted for both Class 10 and 12 students before final exams.
