Clinton: Republican candidates harming anti-terror efforts

Hillary Clinton is charging Republican presidential candidates with undermining American efforts to fight Islamic terrorism with "hateful" campaign rhetoric.

The Democratic presidential frontrunner says that Donald Trump's proposal to block Muslims from entering the US is giving new propaganda to Islamic State militants.

She adds: "He's playing right into their hands."

While Trump's rivals use what Clinton calls "veiled language" to talk about their plans, she says they are also undermining efforts to build a global coalition against the group.

Clinton is spending the day campaigning in Iowa, where she's promoting plans to stop corporate inversions, a practice that permits US companies to merge with corporations overseas to lower their tax bill.

She says American companies that use those deals employ unpatriotic "tricks" to avoid paying US taxes.
