Union minister and BJP candidate from Hazaribagh Lok Sabha constituency Jayant Sinha Tuesday said that "Mahagathbandhan" was mooted by the opposition parties as their "corruption shops" were closed after Narendra Modi government took over the reins of the country in 2014.
Addressing a meeting at Barhi, the Union minister of state for Civil Aviation said, "The opposition is cooking 'Mahakhichidi' only to create hurdles in the continuation of the developmental works taken up by the Narendra Modi government.
"But they (opposition) would fail in their objective as the people have resolved to continue with the Modi government as they have seen developmental works in the past five years which never happened in the last 60 years since independence."
After the Modi government came to power, "corruption shops" of the opposition parties were closed and that was the reason why they went for Mahagathbandhan, Sinha asserted.
He said, "Our politics evolve around development and we have come to serve the people."
Thanking the people for electing him in the 2014 elections, Sinha said that he knew they have made up their mind to re-elect him as they saw his developmental works in the past five years.
Polling for the Hazaribagh Lok Sabha seat will be held on May 6.
The Congress, which is part of the Mahagathbandhan, has got Hazaribagh as per seat the adjustment among the opposition parties in Jharkhand.
The party has not yet announced its candidate for the seat.
