CM Nabam Tuki files nominations for Arunachal assembly

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki today filed his nomination for April 9 assembly elections in the state.

Tuki led by his supporters filed his papers at the office of district electoral officer (DEO) Yupia, official sources informed here.

He will contest from Sagalee constituency, which he won for three consecutive terms.

Tesi Kaso, Congress nominee from prestigious Itanagar constituency also filed his papers today, while former Congress ministers Tapang Taloh and Lombo Tayeng filed nominations today from Panging and Mebo assembly constituencies respectively, sources said.

Congress candidate Mutchu Mithi, who is the son of Rajya Sabha MP and Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President Mukut Mithi also filed his papers from Roing assembly constituency, sources said.
 

People's Party of Arunachal (PPA) chief ministerial candidate and sitting MLA Laeta Umbrey who, is going to lock horns with Mutchu Mithi in Roing constituency, also filed his papers today along with BJP nominee Malo Linggi from the same constituency.

Former minister Roding Pertin also filed his nomination today from Dambuk constituency as a BJP candidate, sources added.

Till yesterday, 31 candidates filed nominations for assembly polls while three candidates filed their papers for Lok Sabha polls from the state.

Tomorrow is the last date of filing nominations, while scrutiny of papers would be conducted on March 24 and last date of withdrawal of candidature is March 26 next.

Counting of votes would take place on May 16.
