CO held on graft charge

Vigilance sleuths today arrested Circle Officer (CO) Bhola Paswan on graft charge from Bihar's Nawada district, an official said.

Acting on a complaint by Rakesh Kumar, a vigilance team headed by the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Maharaj Kanishka Kumar laid a trap and caught Paswan while accepting Rs 4,000 in bribe at his office, Additional Director General of Police (ADG), Vigilance, Ravinder Kumar said.

The tainted CO, posted at Roh circle office, had demanded bribe for mutation of land in the name of the complainant, a native of Sakin-Samraitha village under Roh police station area of the district, he said.
 

The accused will be brought to Patna for interrogation before being produced in a designated vigilance court for judicial remand, the ADG said.
