A commemoration ceremony to mark the successful completion of 20 weeks training by six Short Service Commission (Pilot) Cadets of the Indian Navy was held today at Indian Naval Academy at Ezhimala in nearby Kannur district.
Rear Admiral K S Venugopal, Principal, INA, who presided over the ceremony, exhorted the cadets to continue to excel in all endeavours and always aim to deliver the best in their Naval career.
The Oath of Allegiance to the constitution was administered to the cadets by Commodore M Goverdhan Raju, Principal Director (Training) which was followed by "Shipping of Stripes" ceremony, an INA release said.

Senior Officers, instructors and parents fixed the Naval epaulettes, popularly known as "stripes" on the shoulders of the trainee officers symbolising their transformation from "Cadets" to Naval Officers.
On completion of their training at INA, the officers will now proceed to School for Naval Aviation (SFNA) at Kochi for their follow on training, the release said.
