Confectionery unit partially gutted

A confectionery factory was partially gutted in a fire at Khannabal-Pahalgam road in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district.

A fire broke out in a confectionery unit -- AFP Manufacturing Private Company limited -- at Khannabal-Pahalgam road, 55 kms from here, last night, a police spokesman said.

No casualty was reported in the incident.

He said fire and emergency services personnel immediately rushed to the spot and put off the fire.

The cause of the fire was not known immediately, the spokesman said, adding that the police has registered a case and started investigations.
