In its bid to broaden its reach ahead of Panchayat polls due early next year in Odisha, the Congress today sought views from the public for inclusion in its election manifesto to make it people-oriented.
"The party is keen to unveil a 'people's manifesto' for the Panchayat elections based on hopes, aspirations and suggestions of the public," Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president, Prasad Harichandan, said.
Opinions and suggestions from all sections of the society, particularly people living in rural areas, should be obtained in order to make the panchayati raj system truly transparent, accountable and people-oriented, he said.
