Congress MLA Vishwajeet Kadam injured in road accident

Congress MLA Vishwajeet Kadam suffered minor injuries in a road accident here on late Wednesday night.

The MLA from Palus-Kadegaon in western Maharashtra's Sangli district was injured when his car hit a roadside tree in the Deccan area. His driver escaped unhurt.

Kadam (39) later received medical treatment.

"My car crashed into a roadside tree when I was travelling from Mumbai to Pune. I sustained minor injuries on my left shoulder," he said in a statement on Thursday.

"Therefore, I underwent medical tests and no major injury was found by doctors. Now, both the driver and I are safe," he said.
