The Congress would hold a fast at its divisional headquarters on April 9 to promote harmony and brotherhood.
Social harmony has suffered under the BJP rule and anti-social elements have tried to disturb law and order and created divide among people but the government has remained a mute spectator, PCC president Sachin Pilot said.
He said due to the negligence of the government, violence erupted in the country leaving several innocent people dead and heavy loss was incurred to government and private properties.
The sentiment of hate got a push under the BJP rule which is resulting in vandalism and violence, statues of great personalities are being vandalised and the government failed to control the situation, Pilot said.
Keeping this in mind, the Congress would hold a fast from 11 am to 5 pm on Monday at all the divisional headquarters in the state, he said.
