Cooperative mills have crushed 8.82 lakh quintal of cane and produced 45,065 quintal of sugar so far during the current crushing season in Haryana.
While during the same period last year, 6.32 lakh quintal cane was crushed by cooperative mills and had produced 33,755 quintal of sugar.
Haryana Minister of State for Cooperation Bikram Singh Yadav said that Cooperative Sugar Mill Shahabad has so far crushed 3.05 lakh quintal of cane and has produced 19,700 quintal of sugar.
Similarly, Cooperative Sugar Mills Panipat has crushed two lakh quintal of cane thus produced 14,125 quintal of sugar.
He, as per an official release, said that cooperative sugar mills of Rohtak, Karnal and Sonepat have crushed 1.37 lakh quintal, 1.31 lakh quintal and 0.79 lakh quintal of sugarcane respectively in this season.
