A police inspector has been booked for allegedly sending indecent messages to a woman and threatening her father, police said here today.
The girl, a civil services aspirant, had complained that S P Upadhaya, in-charge of Bisauli Police Station was sending indecent messages and pressurising her to enter into a relationship with him, SSP Mahendra Singh Yadav said.
She also alleged that the inspector had threatened to frame her father in a false case and jail him, the SSP said.
An FIR under relevant sections of the IPC, including that of stalking, and section 67 of the IT Act has been registered against the Inspector, Yadav said, adding Upadhaya has been attached to Police Lines and investigation is on.
