Cop shot dead by hunter

A 45-year-old police constable was

today allegedly shot dead by a man who reportedly had hunted a deer in Panchu area in the district.

Following information about hunting of a deer, the constable Uma Ram went to the spot where locals informed him that Kanaram Nayak from Shobhana village here has killed the animal last night.

"When the constable entered his house, the accused opened fire at him in the chest which left the policeman dead on the spot," SP Bikaner Santosh Chalke said.

IG G L Meena, SP and other officers rushed to the spot after the incident.

"The accused fled after the murder and being searched," the SP added.
