Copper futures inch higher on firm spot cues

futures traded 0.14 per cent higher at Rs 443.35 per kg today as speculators raised bets amid increased spot demand.

In futures trade, for delivery in the current month rose 60 paise, or 0.14 per cent, at Rs 443.35 per kg in a business turnover of 414 lots at the Multi Commodity Exchange.

Similarly, the for delivery in June edged up by 50 paise, or 0.11 per cent, at Rs 448.30 per kg in 34 lots.

Marketmen attributed the rise in futures to widening of positions by participants amid pick up in demand from consuming industries at the domestic spot markets.
