Police foiled the suicide bid by a woman, who along with her three children, was about to jump into Hussain Sagar lake here today, an official said.
"Rajlaxmi, a resident of Rasoolpura area, took her two sons and a 10-month-old girl near the lake and was about to plunge into the water body when the alert police personnel stopped her from doing so," said Lake Police inspector Janaki.
He said Rajlaxmi decided to take the extreme step because she was fed up with the constant harassment by her husband Narasingh, a private employee, who used to doubt her character.
After recording the woman's statement, the Begumpet police are in the process of registering a case against Narasingh, Janaki said.
