Couple commits suicide by jumping before train in UP

A young couple today allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a train at Timri station here.

According to police, Shrikant and Sonia, both in their early 20s, committed suicide as their parents disapproved of their relationship, GRP in-charge Chandrapal Singh said.

Families of the deceased duo said that Shrikant and Sonia had eloped from their homes, he said.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem and the matter is being investigated, the GRP said.
