Couple commits suicide; leaves behind eight-month-old son

A married couple allegedly committed suicide by consuming pesticide mixed with cold drink here, police said today.

K Balakrishna (31) and his wife Sri Ganga (25) drank pesticide-laced cold drink last night at their residence in Annapurnamapeta area and died, a police official said.

They have an eight-month-old son who is safe, he said.

The couple was into cloth business and they had reportedly suffered financial losses recently. This may have prompted the husband-wife duo to take the extreme step, the official added.
