Couple killed in road accident, son injured

A couple was killed and their teenage son injured when the car they were travelling in was hit by an unidentified vehicle near Badail village of the district, police said today.

Pratap Chandra (40) and his wife Savitri (38) had an on-spot death in the mishap that took place last night on Lucknow-Faizabad highway, police said.

Their son Shikhar was seriously injured and was rushed to hospital, they said, adding that his condition was stated to be stable.

A case has been registered and further investigations are on, police added.
