Couple killed over old enmity in Rajasthan

A 30-year-old woman and her husband were today killed by three members of a family over an old enmity in Rajasthan's Jhalawar district, police said.

Shobabai was run over by a tractor and her husband Raju Lal Patidar (40) abducted by a man who, accompanied by two of his family members, wanted to avenge the murder of his son.

In 2014, Raju Lal Patidar had allegedly killed Fateh Singh's son over a trivial dispute.

The Patidars were under trial in a local court for murder, police said.

Determined to avenge his son's murder, Fateh Singh, along with Kalu Singh and Durga Singh, killed Shobabai and abducted Patidar whose body was found later in the evening, said Jhalawar DSP Vaibhav Sharma.
 

The accused have been booked under various section of the IPC, the DSP said, adding that police teams have been sent to nab the accused.

Shobabai's body was handed over to her family members after postmortem and husband's body was kept in the mortuary for the postmortem to be carried out tomorrow morning, the DSP said.
