A couple and their 22-year-old son were killed today while their younger was injured when their car hit a divider on the national highway-1 near Khanpur Kohlia village here, the police said.
Niraj Singhal (50), his wife Tanu Singhal (45) and their elder son Naval died at the spot while younger son Nipun (18) was seriously injured. He has been rushed to the PGIMER, Chandigarh.
After the accident, locals rushed to the spot and took them out from the damaged car.

A police spokesperson said that Niraj, who was a clerk at Mini Secretariat of Haryana in Chandigarh, was driving the car and was on his way to Shamli in Uttar Pradesh with his family.
"It appears that the man, who was at the wheel, fell asleep due to which he lost control over the vehicle," a police official said.
