Travel company Cox & Kings today said its group company MEININGER Hotels will open a property in Leipzig in Germany next year.

"This hotel in Leipzig will strengthen our portfolio of hotels in Germany where we have a presence in five other cities. Its proximity to the main station and city centre will attract a sizable chunk of our clientele," Cox & Kings Director Peter Kerkar said in a release issued here.

After a thorough refurbishment the hotel, former ibis hotel from the Accor Group, will have 126 rooms and 404 beds available across eight floors developed in accordance with MEININGER standards.

The company operates 16 hotels in 10 European cities with a total of 7,025 beds and is on course for expansion with the target of having presence in all the important cities in the continent within the next few years.

MEININGER is a subsidiary of Holidaybreak, which is a subsidiary of Cox & Kings.
