The CPI today criticised the NDA government over Parliament being adjourned without taking up debate on the no-confidence motions proposed by different parties.

"They (parties who proposed no-trust motions) wanted a debate on the no-confidence motion. How Parliament session was adjourned though no-confidence motions were proposed," CPI General Secretary S Sudhakar Reddy told reporters here.

The ruling BJP feared that it would be "exposed" if the no-confidence motion was taken up in the House, he claimed.

Parties, including the TDP, YSR Congress, Congress and Left, gave notices for no-confidence motion against the NDA government.

The BJP has announced that NDA MPs would not accept salaries (in view of Parliament not conducting business properly) as if they had worked honestly, Reddy alleged.

Alleging that the BJP government at the Centre did not take concrete steps to check attacks on Dalits, he said CPI supported the struggles of Dalits.
