The CPI(M) today nominated former West Bengal IT minister Debesh Das as the party's candidate for the February 13 bye-election to Bongaon Lok Sabha seat.
CPI(M) party sources said, Das had contested from the seat in the last Lok Sabha elections against Trinamool Congress MP Kapil Krishna Thakur, whose death has resulted in the bye-election.
The party also nominated Apurba Biswas as its candidate for the bye-election to Krishnaganj Assembly seat in the Nadia district.
The seat fell vacant following the death of Trinamool Congress MLA Sushil Biswas.
