Former Union Minister and Congress leader Jitin Prasada today raised serious questions over the survey conducted by Uttar Pradesh government to ascertain crop losses suffered by rain-hit farmers and termed it to be "discriminatory".

Addressing a group of farmers in J B Ganj of Dhaurehra constituency, Prasada alleged that the survey had failed to provide proper compensation to those who deserved it.

Following the survey, some farmers had received a bigger compensation amount than those who had been worst-hit by untimely rains and hailstorm, he claimed.

Prasada said the Congress would not remain a mute spectator to this discrimination and hold agitation against the government if proper compensation was not awarded.
