Palm oil down 0.4% on sluggish demand

Oil for delivery in February contracts traded lower by 0.35%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Extending losses for the third straight day, crude palm oil prices fell by 0.43% to Rs 443.80 per 10 kg in futures trading today as speculators indulged in reducing positions.

Besides, sluggish demand in the spot market kept pressure on crude palm oil prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in January month declined by Rs 1.90, or 0.43% to Rs 443.80 per 10 kg in business turnover of 27 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in February contracts traded lower by Rs 1.60, or 0.35% to Rs 450.30 per 10 kg in 39 lots.

Market analysts said offloading of positions by traders due to subdued demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly kept crude palm oil prices down at futures trade.
