More than 3000 performing artistes from around 16 countries, including India would gather here to stage nearly 100 plays for two weeks next month.
The occasion is India Theatre Olympiad-2014 and is being organised annually for the last 22 years without a break by the city-based Utkal Yuva Sanskrutika Sangha.
The fortnight-long theatre festival will begin from September 5 and the stage of Kala Vikash Kendra (KVK) here would regale with dance, music, multi-lingual Indian plays in English, Hindi and other regional languages.

"Performing artistes from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Croatia, Indonesia, Iran, Egypt, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, Nepal, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Ukraine have confirmed their participation in the festival", said eminent dramatist and general secretary of the Sangha Prof Kartik Chandra Rath.
Rath said veteran playwrights, directors, theatre artistes, classical and folk dance exponents, vocalists, musicians from across the country and abroad would perform here and their performances would be keenly watched by the critics and gurus accompanying them.
Soon after the national festival on September 15, the International theatre festival would begin the day after and will continue till September 20, he said.
