Partial blowing of an airconditioning duct of a bogie of Mysore-bound Shatabdi Express near here today sparked a scare among passengers.

However, officials said it was a minor damage in the ceiling of the bogie due to overheating of airconditioner which was repaired.

The train which left Chennai Central Station at 6 AM was stopped at Arakkonam Railway Station, about 70 km from here, following complaints from passengers as the air conditioning duct broke causing a minor damage, Southern Railway sources said.

"Officials were sent in and the broken air conditioning unit was repaired at Arakkonam. The train resumed journey after a 20 minute delay," a senior Southern Railway official said.

Shatabdi Express runs six days a week between Chennai and Mysore.
