Debtor beaten to death in Ludhiana

A 35-year-old man was beaten to death here allegedly by the men of a financier to whom he owed money, police said today.

The victim, Irshad, had gone out with them yesterday after they arrived at his home, his family said in a police complaint.

After he was allegedly beaten to death, a man associated with the financier brought his body home in a car, police said. However, the people in Irshad's locality did not allow the man to leave and called the police.

A large force was then rushed to the spot and the man associated with the financier was arrested, Ludhiana DCP Dhruman Nimbale said.
 

Police said a case has been registered and the matter was being investigated.
