A delegation of Congress leaders today met Delhi Jal Board CEO Vijay Kumar to protest against alleged absence of provision in DJB's budget for laying new sewer lines in unauthorized colonies.
Members of the delegation, led by former DPPC president Subhash Chopra, also registered their protest for allegedly not providing drinking water to all families in an uniform manner.
"Due to DJB's decision to provide around 700 litres of free water without making any budgetary provision, the other works of DJB have suffered. The previous Congress government's decision to provide sewer connection in unauthorized colonies for a sum of Rs 5000 was also scuttled by AAP-led government which has not made any notification," Congress leader Mukesh Sharma said.
