Demand for prohibition: Over 400 BJP workers arrested

: Over 400 BJP workers were arrested today when they attempted to lay siege of Government run TASMAC liquor outlets in various parts of the city.

Seeking total prohibition, with closure of TASMAC liquor outlets, the workers, mostly women, raised slogans in support of their demand, police said.

The agitation was held at Karamadai, Sulur, Koilmedu, Thudiyalur, Koundanpalayam, R S Puram, Ganapati, Sundarapuram and Peelamedu areas.
