M Devaraja Reddy today took over as the President of ICAI, the apex body of chartered accountants, while Nilesh S Vikamsey has been elected as the Vice President.
Both have been elected for the year 2016-17.
Speaking to reporters here after taking over, Reddy said ICAI expects to come out with its new syllabus in the next few months.

The revamped curriculum has been submitted to the Corporate Affairs Ministry and is currently under legal vetting, he noted.
The curriculum for the chartered accountants programme is revised every 10 years and the latest one has been prepared after long drawn consultations with stakeholders.
Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), set up under an Act of Parliament, comes under the Corporate Affairs Ministry.
Reddy has more than 28 years of professional experience while Vikamsey has over 30 years of professional standing.
