The house of Dima Hasao district Congress president Mohendra Kemprai was attacked last night in a district council poll related violence injuring three persons, police said today.
The Congress leader's house in Hamri constituency was attacked by unidentified persons at around 9 PM during a meeting for the upcoming May 20 North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council elections, the sources said.
Police is investigating the incident and search operation has been launched for the attackers.
In the same constituency earlier on Wednesday, assailants had damaged a vehicle of Independent candidate Debolal Gorlosa who has lodged an FIR with the police regarding the incident.
For Hamri constituency four candidates are contesting, including Mohendra Kemparai (Congress)and Debolal Gorlosa (independent) and two other independents.
