In the backdrop of MDMK walking out of NDA and PMK turning critical of BJP, the national party's lead ally in Tamil Nadu, DMDK, is all set to meet for its key General Council meeting at Coimbatore on Wednesday.
A party statement here said that DMDK founder Vijayakant, addressed as 'Captain' by his followers, will discuss the party's growth and its future course of action.
However, it is expected that the party might take a call on its alliance with BJP, with elections to the Tamil Nadu Assembly due next year.
After BJP stitched a mega coalition in March last year for the Lok Sabha polls in the state, DMDK fought from 14 seats, but could not win a single constituency.
