A doctor and a tout have been arrested for allegedly running illegal sex determination diagnostic service following a raid by state medical and health department officials in Rajasthan's Nagaur district.
Amit Singh, a doctor, and a tout Surendra Singh were arrested yesterday for violating Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act and conducting sex determination test, an official statement said here today.
They were arrested from a house in Gorjipura area of Nagaur district while conducting sex determination test in the house of one Gopal Singh, who along with one Nagendra Singh Rathore managed to escape, it said.

An unregistered portable sonography machine, ultrasound gel, some equipments and Rs 88,000 cash were also recovered from their possession.
The accused doctor used to carry the sonography machine in his car and conduct sex determination tests on the pregnant women allegedly brought by Surendra Singh at the place provided by Gopal Singh, it said.
The police was looking for Gopal Singh and Rathore.
