A Belgian Malinois dog which ate 17 rounds of live ammunition has been saved in the US state of Arkansas.
Benno was rushed to vet by his owner Larry Brassfield after throwing up to reveal a three-inch long bullet in the puddle.
Sarah Shelton removed 16 cartridges from Benno's stomach, leaving others to be expelled naturally.

In total, he had eaten 17 live rounds of .308 caliber ammunition.
"My first concern was not an explosion but poisoning," Shelton was quoted as saying by the Baxter Bulletin.
But after surgery, Shelton said Benno should make a full recovery.
However, Benno's eating habits may not improve.
Since surgery, he has already eaten one of Brassfield's wife's bras.
Previously he has eaten coins, rubber toys, wax paper, aluminum foil, a gasoline-soaked lawn mower air filter, marbles, tennis shoes, socks, broken glass and a television remote.
"You can baby-proof a house, but I don't think it is possible to Benno-proof a house," says Brassfield.
"Lord knows we've tried and failed," he says.
