Opposition Congress today suggested Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to avoid inducting "tainted" legislators into his Cabinet, as he gets ready to expand his team.

The party also appealed to Fadnavis to appoint full-time (Cabinet rank) Ministers for Home and Agriculture.

"The government should refrain from appointing tainted persons as Ministers else they will have to face the wrath (of Opposition) during Monsoon Session of the legislature," Leader of Opposition in Assembly and Congress member Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil said.

"Already, half of the Cabinet members face serious allegations, but the Goverment is not ready to initiate a proper inquiry against them. Now, if the government decides to induct more tainted legislators into the Cabinet, it would not be tolerated," he warned.

The Congress leader said keeping in view the "deteriorating" law and order situation and sorry conditon of farmers, the State needs full-fledged Ministers for Home and Agriculture.

Fadnavis, who assumed office in October 2014, will expand his Cabinet tomorrow. He is expected to fill up portfolios rendered vacant after the resignation of senior Minister Eknath Khadse over corruption charges last month.

The 10 portfolios handled by the veteran BJP leader are with Fadnavis, who also handles the Home Department.
