Drug peddler arrested, heroin worth Rs 5 lakh seized

A drug peddler was today arrested from Phagwara-Chandigarh bypass and 10 gram heroin worth Rs 5 lakh in the international market was seized from his possession, police said.

Kamaljit Singh alias Kamal, a resident of nearby Palahi village, was going in a car from Bhullarai crossing on the bypass towards his native village when he was arrested, DSP Kanwalpreet Singh Chahal said.

He said the peddler has been booked under sections of NDPS Act.
