After a brief spell of rain and thundershowers last week, dry weather prevailed in most parts of Uttar Pradesh while fog occurred at isolated places.
Night temperatures markedly fell in Gorakhpur division, appreciably fell in Varanasi, Faizabad, Bareilly divisions, fell in Lucknow division and changed little in the remaining divisions of the state, the MeT department said.
They were appreciably above normal in Kanpur, Jhansi divisions, above normal in Allahabad, Meerut divisions, below normal in Gorakhpur division and were normal in the remaining divisions of the state.
Najibabad (Bijnore) was the coldest place in the state recording the lowest minimum temperature of 4.5 degrees Celsius, it said.
According to MeT forecast, weather would be dry and fog would occur at few places with dense fog likely at isolated places.
