Two persons have been arrested for allegedly killing a couple in March and robbing Rs 1.5 lakh from them, police said today.
Acting on a tip-off, Ajay and Veer Singh were arrested yesterday for killing 30-year-old Jaipal and his lover Kavita (28) in March and looting Rs 1.5 lakh that the couple had given to one of the accused for their marriage, SP (Rural) Ashok Kumar said.
Jaipal had approached his friend Ajay for helping him to marry his lover in court, for which he had arranged a sum of Rs 1.5 lakh, he said.

The accused promised the victim of help and submitted the money with Singh, one of his own accomplices, police said.
"On March 15, Jaipal and Kavita were taken to Nagar, a village under Arniya police station area on the pretext of getting them married in court the next day," Kumar said.
Two unclaimed bodies were found by villagers on March 16 who reported the matter to the Arniya police station.
An FIR was registered under section 302 (murder) against unknown persons in the case then.
The accused, residents of Jawan area in Aligarh, have confessed to the crime, police added.
