The USA-based Earth Day Network, which has been working for environmental awareness in around 192 countries, has lauded the Rajkot Municipal Corporation's (RMC) bicycle sharing project, it was officially announced here today.
"The Earth Day Network commends your (RMC's) efforts to make Rajkot a green city," stated an RMC release, citing a certificate issued by the USA-based organisation to the city civic body.
"The RMC recently launched the bicycle sharing project, in which 90 bicycles have been stationed at four stands here, which people may ride free of cost," the release said.

The bicycle stands have been located at some of the busiest area in the city like Central Bus Depot, Kishan Para Chowk, Indira Circle and Tricaun Baug, the release said.
"The aim of this project is to create awareness among people about the importance of clean environment and to make Rajkot a green city," the release said.
