Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said efforts are being made to provide employment opportunities to a maximum number of youths under the 'Enterprises Promotion Policy' which has been launched to promote the state as a preferred destination for investment.
Besides that, skill upgradation of youths is also being ensured so that they match the requirement of the industries, he said addressing a seminar here on 'Development of States with Special Emphasis on North-western states'.
The Chief Minister said his government is also considering a proposal to give unemployment allowance to youths, an official release said.

He said Haryana is giving minimum wages of Rs 7,600 per month to unskilled labourers and Rs 9,700 per month to those skilled and that these emoluments would be linked to inflation every year.
Khattar said that apart from agriculture, the state has secured a leading position in the country in terms of industrial growth.
He said it is the need of hour to promote food processing industries so as to ensure sustainable income for farmers.
While stressing the need for value addition and processing in agro-products, the Chief Minister said special attention should be paid to increase income of farmers.
About two per cent of total production of fruits and vegetables in India are processed in the country, he said. Post-harvest loss is more in the country, he said.
"It is 3.9 per cent in terms of foodgrains and 18 per cent in fruits and vegetables. To overcome this, we would have to develop infrastructure of food processing and cold chains.
"Both public and private sectors should move forward together for this purpose. North-western states like Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and UT Chandigarh should work together to achieve the desired results in this direction," he said.
