Elderly doctor mowed down by taxi

The incident took place this morning when Ashwaq Qureshi (59), a senior physician in General Medicine, was knocked down by the speeding vehicle before his residence here, leading to his death on the spot, they said.

A case has been lodged against the absconding driver and further probes are on, they added.
