An elderly man was arrested for allegedly throwing acid at a 19-year-old youth after he spurned the former's bid to involve him in some "perverted activities" in Narnadi village here, police said today.

The accused Radha Kishan Soni (65) was the relative of the victim Lakhpat Soni and was living with his family for a long time.

The incident took place on June 27 when the accused forced the youth to indulge in some "perverted activities" with him. After he refused, the accused threw acid at him while he was sleeping outside his residence, SHO (Boranada) Pankaj Mathur said.

However, the victim was admitted to MDM Hospital with serious burn injuries and got released after four days.

After the probes into the case started, the accused disappeared following which suspicion of his involvement in the incident grew and efforts were initiated to nab him, Mathur said.

The accused was finally arrested today and a case registered against him, the SHO added.
