Elderly man snuffs out his life

A 70-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his licensed rifle in a village here, police said today.

A suicide note was found at the scene, they said adding the incident happened last night in Janauri village.

Varinder Singh took the extreme step as he was apparently upset at the lodging of an FIR by his daughter-in-law against his family, police said.
