Elephant tramples elderly man to death

A 65-year-old man was crushed to death by an elephant in West Midnapore district today, Forest department officials said.

Jatindranath Soren along with a relative was returning to his home when they came in front of an elephant near Khanamuri village in Nayagram area of the district, they said.

While the relative managed to run away, the elephant caught hold of Soren and trampled him to death, the officials said.
