Encounter near LoC, SPO injured

A Special Police official (SPO) was injured today in an encounter near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district.

"The encounter is going on in Mankote forest belt (near LoC) in Poonch district," a senior police officer said.

One SPO suffered minor injuries, he said, adding intermittent firing is going on.

Army and other security forces have cordoned off the area, he said. Further details are awaited.
