The Special Special Court, Bhubaneswar today sentenced an ex-deputy manager of the state-run Odisha Hydro Power Corporation (OHPC) to three years rigorous imprisonment on charge of possessing disproportionate assets worth of Rs 42.31 lakh.
Dilip Kumar Mohanty, former Deputy Manager, Finance, of OHPC and his wife Krushna Priya Mohanty were booked under section 13(2) and 13(1)(e) Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and 109 IPC for possession of disproportionate assets worth of Rs 42,31,608 to his known sources of income.
The Court sentenced Mohanty to Rigorous Imprisonment for three years and imposed a penalty of Rs ten lakh and in default of payment to undergo RI for 15 months.

Krushna Priya Mohanty, Dilip's wife was also sentenced to simple imprisonment for one year and was imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 in default of payment of fine to undergo imprisonment for one more month.
The anti-corruption department had registered a case against Mohanty on December, 2004.
On the allegation of accumulation of disproportionate assets, Mohanty's house at BDA colony here, office room at Vanivihar, paternal house at Arilo village under Cuttack Sadar police station area and Hotel Asharya at Puri were searched on December 28, 2004, said S K Pati, the Special Public Prosecutor.
