Press Trust of India Ranchi
Jharkhand Governor Droupadi Murmu today said exchange of different cultures was always good for a state.

Speaking at the 'Bangla Cultural Fair' here, Murmu said Bengali speaking people have been staying in the state for ages and contributed immensely in its cultural development.

Calling for respecting one's culture so that one could be reverential to other cultures as well, she said, "Obscenity, addiction and neglecting elders have never been in our culture and I appeal to the youth to never accept these evils."

Murmu said Bangla culture was one of the rich cultures not only in the country but also in the world and has given many stalwarts who gave new direction to humanity, besides having contributed in spiritualism, social work, literature, freedom struggle, theater and sports.
