Executive involved in "non fatal" mishap arrested

A senior executive of a liquor conglomerate was today arrested after three persons were injured when the BMW car he was driving rammed into an autorickshaw here.

Police said the executive was allegedly in an inebriated condition when the incident happenedon Saturdaynight.

All three persons injured were travelling in the autorickshaw on G M Palya Road, near Indiranagar when they were hit by the car.

A case was registered at Indiranagar Police station under Section 279 and 337 of the Indian Penal Code (Rash driving or riding on a public way, and Causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) read with 185 of the Indian Motor Vehicles Act (Driving by a drunken person or by a person under the influence of drugs).
 

Police officials said an internal enquiry has been ordered to find out why the arrest was not made on thesame day.
